Indonesia–Germany Higher Education Networking Dinner

As part of the event, the Indonesia–Germany Higher Education Networking Dinner provided a platform for exchange among 11 German and 12 Indonesian universities. The evening fostered dialogue on opportunities for collaboration in higher education, research, and innovation, highlighting the long-standing partnership between both countries.

Dr. Guido Schnieders, Director of the DAAD Regional Office in Jakarta, opened the event by emphasising DAAD’s ongoing commitment to connecting institutions, promoting research collaboration, and empowering future generations through education. He also presented DAAD’s latest programmes and funding opportunities, illustrating how collaboration and mobility continue to have a tangible impact on Indonesian and German institutions alike.

H.E. Ambassador Ralf Beste gave a welcome speech in which he expressed his enthusiasm for strengthening Indonesia–Germany relations by collaborating on higher education and research projects. We would like to extend our warmest congratulations and best wishes as he begins his mission in Indonesia.

Best practices demonstrating the strength of joint research, academic exchange, and innovation-driven cooperation were shared by Universitas Indonesia, Heilbronn University of Applied Sciences, IPB University, and Swiss German University.
The evening concluded with engaging discussions, meaningful connections, and renewed enthusiasm for future collaboration. DAAD remains committed to supporting partnerships that promote excellence and have a lasting impact on higher education in Indonesia and Germany.
