Support for international collaboration is a fundamental part of the DFG’s funding portfolio. It can support all stages of cooperation between German researchers and international partners: Starting from the initiation of a collaboration and extending to international networks, the DFG is offering funding for connecting researchers, research groups or whole institutions. Max Planck Institutes are involved in more than 3,000 projects with over 6,000 international partners in over 120 countries. Its scientists conduct research at the frontiers of knowledge, leaving national borders behind.
